Wrote Monroe, I redesigned the polyamory flag bc the previous one seemed a little jarring to me. I like the original, which means behind the colors, though. Once more, the colors are more muted than the unique’s. The colors of the stripes, from prime to backside, are as follows: blue, representing the openness and honesty amongst all companions with which we conduct our several relationships; purple, representing love and passion; and black, representing solidarity with those that, although they are open and honest with all participants of their relationships, should cover these relationships from the outside world because of societal pressures.
The letter’s gold color represents the worth that we place on the emotional attachment to others, be the connection pleasant or romantic, versus merely primarily bodily relationships. The symbol in the flag’s center is a gold Greek lowercase letter ‘pi,’ as the primary letter of ‘polyamory.’ The system of Greek numerals has a value of 80. It was derived from the Phoenician letter Pe. The extra information tales and Tv interviews that poly individuals did, the better knowledgeable the media themselves grew to become going into interviews, and the simpler it acquired. I wanted a symbol that might be used relatively anonymously, that might let people who were in on the symbology join, without it being too particular.
